The FT-3909 from F-tone Networks is a single-mode FTTH drop cable with an FRP strength member, a steel messenger wire and an LSZH jacket, built to the GJXFH structure. The integrated messenger wire carries the cable weight on aerial spans between buildings and poles, while the 2.0 x 5.0 mm cross-section keeps the drop compact. Attenuation is specified at no more than 0.36 dB/km at 1310 nm and 0.22 dB/km at 1550 nm, with a cable cut-off wavelength of 1260 nm or less. It suits outdoor-to-indoor FTTH drops where a self-supporting cable simplifies aerial installation.
