1-384 Channel Voice PCM Fiber Multiplexer, 4U Chassis

Overview

The FT-1231 is a point-to-point optical transmission device that multiplexes 1 to 384 voice channels over fiber, built on a dedicated large-scale PCM integrated circuit. The modular 4U chassis accepts flexible service combinations: 4 channels of 10/100M Fast Ethernet at 100M line rate, or 4 channels of 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet at 1000M line rate, or 4 physically isolated 100M Ethernet channels with 100M of independent bandwidth each.

Four expansion service interfaces add further channels such as RS232/485/422 asynchronous data, TTL signals and digital-input signals, making the platform adaptable to mixed voice, data and control deployments.
