Overview

The FT-84M-36 is an 84 Mbps 1x9 singlemode transceiver with an ST connector, specified for links of up to 60 km on singlemode fiber at 1310 nm. It is part of the F-tone Networks 84M series of legacy modules that support operators maintaining older SDH/SONET infrastructure and long-haul low-speed access lines where a straightforward, pin-compatible spare is required.

Like the rest of the family, the module works from either a 3.3 V or a 5 V supply and presents LVTTL/TTL levels to the host board, preserving compatibility with established 1x9 layouts. The family data covers commercial-grade 0℃ to 70℃ operation as well as hardened -40℃ to 85℃ variants, and the ST twist-lock connector suits installations that are serviced by hand in the field.
