Overview

The FT-QSFP28-100G-ER4-1310 is a 100G QSFP28 ER4 optical transceiver for 40 km reach over single-mode fiber at 1310 nm. It multiplexes four 25G wavelengths onto one fiber pair, extending 100G Ethernet to metro and long-haul distances without mid-span regeneration. Built to the QSFP28 MSA, it plugs into standard 100G switch and router ports. The ER4 format suits carrier backbones, data center interconnects and enterprise WAN links that need single-span reach far beyond 10 km LR4 optics. Operators can light a single 40 km span directly from existing 100G line cards, avoiding extra regeneration hardware and saving rack space.
