Overview

The FT-622M is a 622 Mbps 1x9 multi-mode optical transceiver with an FC connector, built for legacy STM-4/OC-12 equipment. Two wavelength options cover typical plant: an 850 nm transmitter reaches 550 m for in-building multi-mode links, while a 1310 nm transmitter extends to 2 km for campus spans. The module accepts a 3.3 V or 5 V supply and uses LVTTL/TTL signaling for direct connection to existing line cards. Packaged in the industry-standard 1x9 footprint, it serves as a drop-in replacement for aging short-reach optics. F-tone Networks targets the FT-622M at maintenance and sparing programs that keep multi-mode SONET/SDH infrastructure running.
