Overview

The FT-2M-18 is a 2 Mbps 1x9 single-mode optical transceiver with an FC connector, designed for low-rate data and control signaling. Its 1310 nm Fabry-Perot laser transmitter drives single-mode fiber out to 20 km, covering campus and metro access spans with margin. The module runs from a 3.3 V or 5 V supply and uses LVTTL/TTL electrical signaling, so it integrates directly with legacy control cards and industrial equipment. Built in the industry-standard 1x9 package, it drops into existing host designs as a field-replaceable optical interface. F-tone Networks positions the FT-2M-18 for control networks, SCADA backbones and telecom monitoring links where link stability matters more than raw throughput.
