Oversized optics waste budget while undersized ones fail qualification, so a 20 km grade keeps metro-edge and campus interconnect links honest on cost with margin to spare. Like the rest of the CWDM-SFP10G-FM family, this module shares one channel plan across 10, 20, 40, 60 and 80 km versions, letting operations teams stock a single series instead of five incompatible ones. Match the grade to the survey, and the link closes without overbuilding.
