Overview

The F-tone Networks FT-SFP-1G-100KM-2 is a DWDM SFP transceiver that moves Gigabit Ethernet services across links up to 100 km long. It works on the 100 GHz DWDM channel grid, fitting neatly into dense wavelength-division multiplexing systems where dozens of channels share one fiber. Data rates up to 1.25 Gbps cover Gigabit Ethernet and common storage networking traffic. The standard SFP housing installs directly into compatible ports on aggregation switches and transport equipment, so upgrades do not require new chassis. Carriers and large enterprises choose this module class to stretch capacity on installed fiber, lighting extra channels between points of presence instead of laying new cable.
