Overview

The FT-SFP-100M-BIDI-5 is a 100BASE-BX SFP transceiver that transmits at 1550nm and receives at 1310nm on a single fiber strand, doubling fiber utilization on 100Mbps access links. Bidirectional optics let one strand carry both directions, which cuts fiber count and patching cost in half on access and aggregation networks. The 2km reach covers street cabinets, building entries and short campus spans. In the industry-standard SFP form factor, it drops into 100BASE-BX host ports for Fast Ethernet services, industrial Ethernet and legacy telecom equipment. This end of the pair transmits 1550nm and must be mated with a 1310nm-transmit partner at the far end.
