Overview

The FT-SFP-100M-BIDI-3 targets the longest single-fiber Fast Ethernet links in the lineup, carrying 100Mbps to 120 kilometers using 1550nm transmit and 1490nm receive wavelengths on one strand. BiDi optics let operators serve remote towns, power substations and border sites over a single leased fiber instead of a pair. The standard SFP housing keeps it compatible with 100BASE-BX host equipment already in the field. Deploy the 1550nm-TX side against a 1490nm-TX partner to close the link. For carriers consolidating legacy 100M services onto long metro and regional spans, it extends fiber life without new construction.
