Overview

The F-tone Networks FT-SFP-1G-17 is a 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver that brings Gigabit Ethernet to copper wiring in a compact SFP package. It runs full-duplex gigabit over standard twisted-pair cable, which suits server racks, wiring closets, and enterprise edge switches where fiber is unnecessary. The SFP form factor takes far less panel space than older module types, leaving more port density for mixed fiber and copper designs. Because it is a standard 1000BASE-T interface, it works with ordinary structured cabling and patch panels already in place. Network teams use these copper SFPs to keep short links economical while preserving SFP slots for future fiber upgrades.
