Overview

The FT-SFP-1000M is a 1000BASE-T SFP transceiver that plugs Gigabit Ethernet copper into any standard SFP cage, replacing an optical module where fiber is not required. It drives 1000Mbps over ordinary Cat 5/5e cabling for runs up to 100 meters, using a familiar RJ-45 connector. Network teams use it to populate spare SFP ports on switches and media converters with copper uplinks, avoiding the cost of fiber jumpers and patch panels on short links. The hot-pluggable SFP form factor makes adds and moves fast. It is a straightforward choice for data rooms, office distribution layers and equipment where copper plant is already in place.
