The FT-10G-80KM-2 stretches XENPAK DWDM to 80 km for long metro and inter-office links. Up to 10 Gbps ride each wavelength on the 100 GHz ITU grid, and operators pick from 45 channels (DXPK-10G17-80 through DXPK-10G61-80) to fit existing DWDM plans. The extra reach eliminates regeneration huts on 40 to 80 km spans, a direct saving on powered sites. Installed XENPAK hosts accept the module without changes, extending the service life of first-generation 10G platforms. Ordering the exact wavelength is simple with channel-specific part numbers.
