10G CWDM X2 40km Transceiver

Overview

A large installed base of X2-based switches and routers still carries production 10G traffic. The FT-X2-10G-40KM keeps those platforms on CWDM wavelength plans: a 10G X2 transceiver rated for 40 km, operating at data rates up to 10 Gbps. Rather than replacing line cards or whole chassis to gain wavelength agility, operators plug X2 CWDM modules into the ports they already own and join the same multiplexed fiber as the SFP+ generation. The CX2-10GXX series covers 40 km and 80 km grades on a common plan, so sparing mirrors the SFP+ practice. For networks with years of service left in X2 hardware, this module extends the platform’s useful life without a forklift upgrade.
