Overview

The F-tone Networks 1000BASE-BX BiDi SFP transceiver (FT-SFP-1G-BIDI-2) carries full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet over a single multimode fiber strand. It transmits at 1550nm and receives at 1310nm, so one fiber handles both directions and halves cabling needs. The module reaches 550m, making it a practical choice for short-reach enterprise and campus links where fiber pairs are scarce. Built on the standard SFP form factor, it installs into common Gigabit switch and router ports without special tooling.
