Overview

The FT-QSFP28-BIDI-20K delivers 100 Gb/s over 20 kilometers using a single strand of single-mode fiber with a simplex SC connector. Transmitting at 1291 nm and receiving at 1311 nm, it forms a complementary pair with the remote-side module, so each link consumes one fiber instead of a duplex pair. The SC interface sets this module apart from the LC-based BiDi family: field technicians who already patch SC in their fiber plant can install it without adapters or re-termination. Housed in a standard hot-pluggable QSFP28 package, it fits 100G switch and router ports. At 20 kilometers of reach, it suits metro aggregation and enterprise interconnects where SC patching is the established convention.
