The FT-SFPPLUS-1000M is a gigabit fiber media converter with two SFP slots for 10/100/1000M Ethernet links. It provides a compact way to extend or join fiber spans while keeping the existing copper edge untouched, using SFP modules chosen for the fiber type and distance on each link. Both fiber ports accept standard SFP optics, so the converter adapts to multimode and single-mode cabling as well as short and long reaches without replacing hardware. Typical uses include linking remote switches to a fiber backbone, bridging fiber segments during plant upgrades, and providing a fiber handoff at the network edge.
