Overview

The FT-1000M-1550-13 brings PoE and long-reach fiber together in one converter, changing 10/100/1000 Mbps copper Ethernet into dual-fiber 1550 nm single-mode signals that travel up to 80 km. PoE on the copper side powers cameras, access points and sensor gateways over the data cable, which is ideal when the device end sits far from mains power. The 1550 nm optics work in the lowest-loss window of single-mode fiber for dependable full-duplex Gigabit throughput over the full distance. This model suits wide-area surveillance, intelligent transport systems and rural broadband projects where powered endpoints are scattered across long fiber routes.
