Overview

The FT-1000M-1550-14 is a compact mini Gigabit media converter that pairs 10/100/1000 Mbps copper Ethernet with dual-fiber 1550 nm single-mode optics reaching up to 80 km. Its small iron housing fits into tight cabinets and crowded wiring closets, and an external power supply keeps heat out of the chassis while free-air convection cooling handles the rest. Power input is DC 5–12 V with maximum consumption of 3 W. The converter serves long-reach Ethernet extension for carriers, ISPs and enterprises that need 1550 nm optics in a space-saving package for distribution frames, customer premises and remote nodes.
