Overview

The FT-1000M-1550-17 is a PoE fiber media converter that bridges 10/100/1000 Mbps copper Ethernet and dual-fiber 1550 nm single-mode optics across distances up to 40 km. PoE on the copper side energizes remote equipment such as IP cameras and wireless radios through the data cable, cutting the cost of running mains power to the device location. The 1550 nm wavelength delivers steady full-duplex Gigabit throughput over a single fiber pair, and the converter integrates easily into existing Ethernet networks on both sides.
