Overview

The FT-1000M-1550-18 combines long-reach fiber conversion with PoE, turning 10/100/1000 Mbps copper Ethernet into dual-fiber 1550 nm single-mode optics that travel up to 100 km. Its PoE capability feeds remote equipment over the same Ethernet cable that carries data, so cameras, wireless access points and other edge devices run without a nearby power outlet. The 1550 nm optics work in the low-loss window for dependable full-duplex Gigabit throughput across metro and regional distances. The converter suits security, transportation and telecom projects where powered edge devices sit far from the core network and fiber already covers most of the distance.
