Overview

The FT-SFP-80KM-6 is a 1.25 Gbps DWDM optical transceiver in the hot-pluggable SFP package, built for dense wavelength multiplexed networks and 80 km spans. It uses a duplex LC interface over single-mode fiber with a 24 dB power budget, delivering solid margin for long-distance single-mode transmission. The standard SFP form factor inserts directly into SFP cages on switches, routers and DWDM transport gear.

DWDM channelization packs many Gigabit services onto one fiber pair through passive mux/demux, and the 24 dB budget keeps 80 km spans well within margin. It is a practical choice for carriers expanding capacity on existing fiber without laying new cable.
