Overview

The FT-SFP-160KM is a 1.25 Gbps DWDM optical transceiver in the hot-pluggable SFP package, designed for ultra-long-haul single-mode spans of up to 160 km. A 37 dB power budget provides exceptional link margin, and the duplex LC interface connects over standard single-mode fiber. The SFP package plugs into ordinary SFP cages, bringing 160 km DWDM reach to switches, routers and transport platforms without special line cards.

With 37 dB of budget, single 160 km spans close with margin to spare for connectors and splices, and DWDM muxing multiplies services per fiber pair. It suits regional backbone extension and remote-site links where regeneration sites are unavailable.
