Overview

The FT-SFP-BIDI-6 is a 1.25 Gbps single-fiber BiDi SFP transceiver that moves Gigabit traffic both ways over one single-mode fiber strand. Its single LC/SC simplex port separates transmit and receive with CWDM WDM filtering, and a 26 dB power budget delivers strong margin for longer single-fiber spans. One strand carries the full-duplex link, freeing the second strand or the second fiber for other services.

BiDi operation requires complementary wavelength pairs, so each end transmits on the wavelength its partner receives. The hot-pluggable SFP package drops into standard SFP cages on switches, routers and SDH/SONET gear, making single-fiber Gigabit links a simple upgrade.
