Overview

The FT-SFP-BIDI-17 is a 1.25 Gbps single-fiber BiDi transceiver in the hot-pluggable SFP package, carrying Gigabit traffic both ways over one single-mode fiber strand. A single LC/SC simplex port handles transmit and receive through CWDM WDM filtering, and the 19 dB power budget provides reliable margin on the link. By sending both directions down one fiber, the module halves the fiber strands a route needs.

Single-fiber BiDi modules deploy as complementary pairs, each end using opposite transmit/receive wavelengths within its CWDM channel. The result is a full-duplex Gigabit link on one strand, ideal for access networks, campus rings and point-to-point routes with limited fiber.
