1.25G SFP 1490/1310nm BiDi 20km Single-Fiber Transceiver

Overview

The FT-SFP-BIDI-1310 is a 1.25 Gbps single-fiber SFP transceiver rated for 20 km spans. Using bidirectional WDM, it sends at 1490 nm and receives at 1310 nm over one strand of single-mode fiber, and it works with a far-end module carrying the mirrored wavelengths (TX 1310 nm / RX 1490 nm). The 20 km reach fits medium-distance access links, such as connections between a central office and outlying cabinets, without the cost of a second fiber strand. Housed in a hot-swappable SFP package with a simplex LC/SC interface, the module installs into live equipment and links up once the paired unit is present. F-tone Networks produces it to the stated specifications for extending gigabit service over single-strand fiber.
