1.25G GBIC 36dB Power Budget CWDM Optical Transceiver

Overview

The FT-4174 is a 1.25 Gbps single-mode GBIC transceiver that combines CWDM-channel operation with a 36 dB link power budget. The extra margin extends achievable distance and tolerates additional connector and splice losses along the path, which is valuable on routes that cannot be shortened. Like other GBIC devices, the module is hot-swappable, so field engineers can add or replace it in powered equipment without interrupting neighboring services. Deployed behind a CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer, the FT-4174 lets multiple wavelength channels travel over the same fiber pair, increasing the throughput of existing fiber plant.
