1.25G GBIC CWDM 27dB Optical Transceiver

Overview

The FT-4175 is a 1.25 Gbps CWDM GBIC transceiver built for multiplexed single-mode links, rated at a 27 dB optical power budget — the largest in its family. As part of a coarse wavelength division multiplexing system, it lets several independent 1.25 Gbps channels share one fiber pair through passive mux/demux units — multiplying capacity without laying new cable.

The 27 dB budget covers extended CWDM spans, tolerating the highest connector, splice and mux/demux insertion loss among its channel partners. Housed in the hot-swappable GBIC package, the module slots into existing equipment and joins the CWDM grid alongside its channel neighbors where link margins run tightest.
