Overview

The FT-BIDI-1510 is a 1.25 Gbps bidirectional (BiDi) transceiver in the classic GBIC form factor that moves Gigabit traffic over one single-mode fiber strand. An internal WDM filter assigns 1590 nm to transmission and 1510 nm to reception, so both directions travel the same fiber and halve the fiber count needed. With a 120 km distance rating, it fits ultra-long single-span links such as rural telecom extensions and remote site backhaul.

As a drop-in GBIC replacement, the module extends the service life of legacy telecom line cards. BiDi deployment requires a matched pair: the far-end unit transmits on 1510 nm and receives on 1590 nm, completing the two-way path over one fiber.
