1.25G GBIC BiDi 1550/1310nm 2km Optical Transceiver

Overview

The FT-BIDI-1310 is a 1.25 Gbps bidirectional GBIC transceiver that carries both directions of a link on a single multimode fiber. It transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm, using wavelength separation to keep the two streams apart on one strand — instantly doubling the capacity of existing two-strand runs or serving sites where only one strand is lit.

For operators facing fiber exhaustion in risers and campus ducts, bidirectional modules are the economical fix: no new cable pulls, no dark-fiber leases. The hot-swappable GBIC package drops into standard slots, and paired with its matching counterpart it restores full-duplex 1.25 Gbps service over a single fiber at up to 2 km.
