1.25G GBIC 1550/1310nm BiDi 20km WDM Transceiver

Overview

The FT-BIDI-1310-3 is a 1.25 Gbps GBIC transceiver that uses WDM to transport both directions of gigabit traffic over a single strand of single-mode fiber. It transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm, complementing modules assigned the opposite pairing (TX 1310 nm / RX 1550 nm) at the remote end. With a 20 km rating, the module handles medium access and aggregation spans where only one fiber strand is provisioned per link. The hot-swappable GBIC housing lets technicians plug it into live equipment without disrupting adjacent ports, and single-strand operation frees the second strand of a pair for other services.
