1.25G GBIC 1310/1550nm BiDi 40km WDM Transceiver

Overview

The FT-BIDI-1310-4 is a 1.25 Gbps single-fiber GBIC transceiver for medium-haul links up to 40 km. It transmits on 1310 nm and receives on 1550 nm over one strand of single-mode fiber, and the far-end module must use the complementary wavelengths (TX 1550 nm / RX 1310 nm) to establish communication. A 40 km rating suits suburban and regional spans where laying a second fiber pair is impractical or costly. The GBIC package is hot-swappable, allowing technicians to insert or remove the module in running equipment without service interruption. Carrying both traffic directions on a single strand lets operators reuse existing fiber and postpone new construction.
