0-40dB Single-Channel Standard MEMS Variable Optical Attenuator

The FT-3948 is a single-channel standard MEMS variable optical attenuator for optical power control, equalization and channel switching. Covering 1530-1610 nm in the C+L band, it adjusts attenuation continuously up to 40 dB with drive voltages of 5.2 V or 15 V. Insertion loss stays at or below 0.7 dB (0.5 dB typical) excluding connectors, while return loss reaches 55 dB minimum and response time is 2 ms or less. The device handles up to 300 mW of optical power and supports multimode fibers including 50/125, 62.5/125 and 105/125 μm types.
