1-Core 1470/1500 µm Step-Index PMMA Plastic Optical Fiber, 3.0 mm Single Jacket

The FT-C1500-1 from F-tone Networks is a 1-core step-index PMMA plastic optical fiber with a 1470 µm core and 1500 µm cladding inside a 3.0 mm single PE jacket. It operates at 650 nm in the visible range, so links are easy to check. The cable withstands 100 N lateral crush load and tensile load under 70 N, and works from -45 °C to +75 °C. Plastic optical fiber is lightweight, flexible, EMI-immune and waterproof, and it can be cut on site without special tools or fusion splicing. It is a practical choice for short-reach visible-light data links in homes, offices, vehicles and industrial control systems where glass fiber would be overkill.
