1-Core 960/1000 µm PMMA Plastic Optical Fiber, 5.0 mm PE/PVC Jacket

The FT-C1000-1-5-0V from F-tone Networks is a single-core step-index PMMA plastic optical fiber with a 960 µm core and 1000 µm cladding, built with a 5.0 mm dual PE/PVC jacket for tougher installations. The 650 nm visible wavelength lets installers align links and verify continuity by eye, simplifying field work. The fiber is immune to electromagnetic interference and tolerates vibration, moisture and magnetic fields, and it can be cut to length on site with ordinary tools, without special equipment or fusion splicing. Rated for -45 to +75 °C, the larger dual jacket suits home and office networks, automotive and industrial control systems, and FTTH-style short-reach runs where a more rugged cable build is wanted.
