Overview

The F-tone Networks FT-786 is a Gigabit Ethernet media converter with dual-fiber 1310 nm optics reaching up to 20 km. It bridges copper and fiber segments, letting existing twisted-pair equipment communicate across fiber spans that far exceed copper distance limits. The dual-fiber design uses one fiber for each direction, a straightforward arrangement for point-to-point links.
