10G SFP+ Active Optical Cable 50m

Overview

Rack-to-rack 10G links need something lighter and longer than copper direct-attach. The FT-10G-4 from F-tone Networks is an active optical cable with SFP+ connectors on both ends, linking equipment up to 50 meters apart. VCSEL-based optics inside the cable ends convert the electrical signal for fiber transport, while PIN photodiodes receive it, giving the link the reach and bend tolerance copper cannot match. Lengths run from 0.5 to 50 meters, and commercial, industrial and military temperature grades are available for different deployment environments. For top-of-rack to server and switch-to-switch connections inside the data hall, this AOC removes cable-weight and distance worries in one part.
